Darien Book Aid Plan Brings Joy to Namelok Junior Academy

Darien Book Aid Plan in Darien, Connecticut sent a large box of children’s books for ages ranging from nursery to middle school to Namelok Junior Academy in Kisamis, Kenya.

For over 65 years, Darien Book Aid Plan has shipped thousands of books around the world and in the United States. The teachers and children of Namelok Junior Academy, a rural school outside of Nairobi in Kenya, are grateful beyond words for the books the recently received. Each one is a window to new cultures, new ways of looking at the world, new dilemmas and solutions, and new dreams to dream.

Lift the Lid has been helping to expand and improve Namelok since 2011, from supplying bricks to books. Soon the Kenya-based company BRCK will be setting the students up with 40 educational tablets. We are so grateful to all our supporters and donors who are helping us to make learning not just possible, but fun.
