Forsaken Truth, by Kibet Ronoh
Tami Constantino’s annual Christmas donation to Lift the Lid will go toward the scholarship fund at Mongonjet Secondary School in Kericho, Kenya, which gives hardworking students who cannot afford school fees the chance to continue their education.
We are very grateful! Student Kibet Ronoh wrote an essay for us in which he takes a stand against bullying. Just by writing about his personal experience with being bullied, he is shouting out in protest.
This year, Lift the Lid will help three students to progress in their studies who would otherwise have to go home and face unemployment. Thank you, Tami, for teaming with us in giving tears of joy to three students this Christmas. What we’re actually giving is a future.
Kibet,
Your essay sets the right example to students everywhere who are bullied. Talking about the experience and/or writing about it is the only way to justice. I respect the fact that you’re taking a stand. It proves that you are stronger in spirit than the boys who attacked you. Keep moving forward and don’t look back!
Sara
Dear Kibet,
Thank you for your essay. You are very brave to write about your bullying experience. I’m so sorry you had to go through that as no one should have to live in fear. I am so glad you could use this as a learning experience. Good for you! You are a great writer, keep learning as much as possible and keep writing. Your future depends on it! Hope this New Year brings you health and happiness.
Your friend,
Tami
