Philippines
Why the Philippines?
The capital, Manila, has the largest homeless population of any city in the world – 3.1 million. An estimated 1.2 million children in the Philippines sleep on the streets, with 70,000 in Manila. Cubao is a commercial district of Quezon City in Manila and is home to many prostituted street kids and children-at-risk who are in conflict with the law. Street families park carts in city alleys and their kids roam the busy streets playing, begging, and looking for work.
Most of these boys and girls do not attend school.
There are many corners of the world where the children need immediate care, and the Philippines is one of them.
