Here’s how you Give & Receive – a secure and simple process:
- Choose a school, if you’d like, and note it in the comment section
- Make a secure donation by credit card, PayPal, or check (offline payment)
- Option to make donation anonymous
Now for the fun part! We’ll email you a student’s poem, short essay, or thank you letter, and we always share photos of the work we’re doing as a result of your support on our website and on social media.

While we cannot guarantee that everyone will be inspired by every essay or poem, we can guarantee that every work is written by a child from the schools we support — exploring his or her voice, taking the opportunity to say, This is me! Lift the Lid is more than an exercise in creativity; it is a place for children who feel left behind by our world to be heard.
You will receive a confirmation receipt for your donation via email from Lift the Lid. (Emails are kept strictly private and not shared with any lists.) 100% of donations go directly to our sponsored schools. Lift the Lid has a representative at each school to oversee the transfer and spending of donations, to take photos, and to document the school’s progress.
