We know our students work hard and take their education seriously. School is not a given; they are grateful for the opportunity, knowing a prosperous life for themselves, their parents, and their future families depends on it. So, when they reach milestones or achieve honors, we LOVE to share their accomplishments and celebrate with them!

Today, it’s all about Terie, who received a letter of recognition for having the 11th-best grade average in her class of 56 students. Congratulations, Terie!!

Terie is a senior in high school now and is thinking about what kind of career she’d like to pursue. She has been with us at The School in a Cart in Quezon City, the Philippines, since the sixth grade. How exciting to see her achieve honors! She is one of 14 students who are benefiting from our education fund, and we look forward to seeing her graduate from college one day!

Below is a recent essay Terie wrote about facing her toughest challenge. We hope you’ll contribute to Lift the Lid and stand with us behind Terie and many other students as they work hard to advance themselves, their families, communities, and maybe even the world!

*You’ll find secure options for making a tax-deductible donation here, and we’ll send you a student’s essay. If you’re interested in sponsoring a student and starting a pen pal, we’re happy to make that happen! Send me, Sara Goff, founder of Lift the Lid, an email at saragoff@saragoff.com. Thank you!
