Lenana is once again participating in the Global Girl Leading Summit hosted by Mulberry Schools Foundation in partnership with Applied Stories, a UK-based audio drama production company. Last year, we submitted “Letters to Our Future Daughters,” and from hundreds of letters, two of our students were chosen for the Global Girl Leading anthology, writing about domestic violence and teen pregnancy. We raised money for five of our students to attend the summit in London, but encountered delays in securing their visas.

This year, the topic is “Letters to Our Mothers,” and we are already making progress to send five of our students to the Summit in October. Gloria, Margaret, Cherly, Esther, and Shanice have worked with Applied Storied and Lift the Lid in writing and rewriting their letters. We couldn’t be more proud of their commitment to this incredible opportunity!
