Lift the Lid Prepares to Celebrate Christmas in Cubao with The School in a Cart

We’re spending this Christmas 2019 in Cubao, the Philippines with the children from The School in a Cart! In preparation for our trip, we’re raising money to support the activities and programs that serve the street children who come to us on a daily basis, year after year. Please, help us make this Christmas extra special: Any donation is appreciated! (There are many giving options and security & privacy are respected.)

Our programs provide food, clothing, tutoring, and the encouragement needed for the children to stay in school. We also offer music lessons and started a band, giving them the opportunity to perform in churches, malls, schools, and parks. But it must be said that our fundraising efforts would be pointless without our partnership with Push Cart Community Missions. They are on the ground every day, giving what the children’s families cannot.

Perhaps what makes the biggest difference in their lives is the way we love them no matter what and listen to them every day and through their writing. This gives them HOPE.

We have gotten to know these children (photographed below) and many more over the years, and, yes, we absolutely love them. Please consider making a contribution so we can continue to support them and build a scholarship fund as they work hard and dream big of attending college and occupational programs.

We’ve chosen only four photos per year to encourage you to go through the whole progression. You’ll see some of the challenges they face and how they triumphed!!
