The Tormented Earth, by Micheal Roine

Thank you Johanna and Tim Masters for making a donation to Namelok Junior Academy in Kisamis, Kenya in the name of Lucas Nilsson for his Fifth Birthday! Micheal Roine shares his thoughts and feelings about the tragedy at Westgate Mall in Nairobi on the 21st of September, 2013.
Micheal, now eleven years old, wrote a fun poem for us last year titled My New Bag. We are proud of his progress, especially in being able to write about his feelings on such a complex topic as terrorism. You can also see from the photos how he’s grown!
This is Micheal’s poem “The Tormented Earth.”
Thank you for sending us your work, Micheal. We look forward to reading more! You have an impressive vocabulary in English. I believe you understand the power of words!
Dear Michael,
I felt so sad as I read your poem. You must know this woman you write about, and you must be feeling so much of her sorrow and anger. I will say prayers for her, that her heart may be healed, and that all the hatred in the world will someday be replaced by love and peace.
Thank you for this poem. It was a reminder to me of the suffering that took place that day and continues in minds and hearts. May the Good Lord ease that suffering, and take the victims home to heaven.
